HAYWARD -- Mary Mildred Swift, 86, died Oct. 6, 2004, at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.
Born Nov. 1, 1917, in Bay City, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Sarah Ethel Hodge and Oscar Eli Babb.
On Jan. 25, 1935, she married George Eugene "Jake" Swift, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by twin children in infancy; two brothers, John and Kenneth Babb; and three sisters, Dossie Wheeler, Pearl Kraper and Edith Taylor.
Survivors include: three sons, George E. Swift Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and James E. Swift and Gilbert Swift of Hayward; one daughter, Marylin Swift Nabors of Smithville, Miss.; and five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins after 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Mickey Moody will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
