KELSO - Herman Eugene Diebold, 82, formerly of Benton, died at 1:40 p.m. Oct. 12, 2004, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. KELSO - Herman Eugene Diebold, 82, formerly of Benton, died at 1:40 p.m. Oct. 12, 2004, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Benton, son of the late Frank and Ida Bollinger Diebold, he was a salesman for Anderson Parks and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He attended the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

On Sept. 3, 1943, he married Mildred Francis Lochridge who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four sons, Gene Diebold of Bloomsdale, James Diebold of Columbus, Ohio, Charlie Diebold of O'Fallon and John Diebold of St. Louis; three daughters, Pat Atkins of St. Charles, Mary Moyers of Jackson and Brenda McKinnis of Corpus Christi, Texas; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

One brother and two sisters also preceded him in death in addition to his parents.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery in Benton.
