BERNIE - Lester R. Miller, 86, died Oct. 13, 2004, at the Malden Nursing and Rehab Center in Malden.
Born April 15, 1918, at Belleville, Ark., to the late George Timothy and Polly Edwards Miller, he had served in the Bernie National Guard Company C of the 140th Infantry which was activated for duty in 1940 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed in farming.
On May 31, 1941, he married Dimple Zimmerman who survives of Bernie.
In addition to his wife he is survived by: two sons, Ronnie Miller and Jerry Miller of Bernie; one daughter, Nancy Green of Malden; one brother, Hugh Miller of the state of Michigan; one sister, Alice Mayberry of Dexter; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one infant son, six brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. Stan Dauck will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
