SIKESTON - The Sikeston volleyball team completed its final home game of the season on Wednesday with a 24-26, 17-25 loss to Notre Dame.

It was Senior Night at the Field House. for two Lady Bulldogs, Audra Wooley and Berneatress Hunt.

"The girls came out with a lot of emotion," said Sikeston coach Steve Beydler.

"They did a fantastic job in the first game but couldn't pull it out against arguably the best volleyball team in southeast Missouri. Notre Dame didn't play as well as I've seen them play, but it could've been because we kept them off balance some. We've been working on some things. Regardless it was a well-fought match on both sides."

Sikeston's junior varsity lost to Notre Dame 19-25, 10-25. Sikeston (9-12) will play in a round robin at New Madrid County Central against the host school, Greenville and Twin Rivers.

The tournament starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
