CAPE GIRARDEAU -- William Thomas "Billy" Cleaves, 61, formerly of Charleston, died Dec. 22, 2007,
Born Dec. 26, 1945, in Diehlstadt, son of the late A.C. and Thelma Halliburton Cleaves, in 1946 he moved to Charleston, where he was a graduate of Lincoln High School, and moved to Cape Girardeau in 2004. He was of the Baptist belief.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie Cleaves and Freddie Cleaves; and two sisters, Thelma Cleaves and Edna Barnes.
Survivors include: two sons, Dewayne Cleaves of St. Louis and Cleveland "Pee Wee" of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Tanglen Marks, Tiffany Cleaves, LaKeisha Cleaves and Doris "Sue" Woodridge of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, A.C. Cleaves of Cairo, Ill., and Joe Cleaves of Kansas City; and 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Charleston. The Rev. J.L. Posey will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, near Charleston.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
