Virginia Galemore

EAST PRAIRIE -- Virginia Mae Galemore, 83, died Oct. 3, 2007, at her home.

Born July 24, 1924, in Gideon, daughter of the late Rube and Mary Childers Hedges, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.

On Dec. 12, 1959, she married Warren LeRoy Galemore who preceded her in death on April 18, 2003.

Also preceding her in death were: one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Filkens; one grandson, Randy Metheny; and one great-granddaughter, Makayla Wheatley.

Survivors include: one son, Robert Maxey of New Canton, Ill.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Beverly Ann Galemore of Kevil, Ky., and Linda and Bobby Wheatley and Anita and Lee Talley of East Prairie; and 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 7 p.m. with George White officiating.
