SIKESTON - Henry F. Cooper, 85, died at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 10, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center.
Born March 11, 1922, in Pontotoc, Miss., to the late Oscar William and Mattie Benjamin Cooper, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a self-employed carpenter and millwright and had worked for Ray Clinton Construction. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge No. 310 AF&AM.
He married Elvada Winders who preceded him in death. On Oct. 12, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married Maggie Dunnegan who preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 1995.
One sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Terry Smith of Sikeston; one sister, Grace Sartin of Cape Girardeau; and one granddaughter, Maggie Smith of Sikeston.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomfield.
