SIKESTON - Lois Jean Hinton, 67, died Nov. 27, 2007, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Nov. 16, 1940, in Cairo, Ill., to the late Thomas and Kathryn Whitaker Hafford, she had been employed as a sales clerk at TG&Y and later was a machine operator at National Lock. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, where she had been an active member and Sunday School teacher and helped with the children's programs.
On Sept. 3, 1959, in Cairo, she married Bobby E. Hinton who survives of the home.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Cindy and Charles Dyson of Morehouse and Kathy Hinton of the home; one grandson whom she raised, John Brown Jr. of Sikeston; one brother, Tom Hafford of Cordova, Tenn.; one sister, Sharon Pierce of Erin, Tenn; and eight grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jack Brown; one brother and one sister.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. until time of services at 5 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston. Ron Tate, pastor, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be: Aaron Klimmek, Ron King, Daniel Klimmek, Jeremy Green, Ryan Wright and Rick Green.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Tommy Hafford, Chuck Hafford, Ervin Taylor, Jerry Lynn and Jerry Alexander.
Blanchard Funeral Chapel of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
