ANNISTON - John Karl Peters, 84, died at 11:55 p.m. Nov. 28, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born May 14, 1923, at Ponotoc, Miss., to the late John Karl and Virginia Savely Peters, he had lived in Anniston most of his life where he was employed in farming until his retirement. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served as an Air Corp Gunner and was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include: one sister, Helen Dale Peters of Bertrand; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Albert Peters, Charlie Peters and Lester Peters; and three sisters, Tillie Swinney, Ethel Brown and Mary Virginia Kellick.
Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bertrand, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
