Sikeston man arrested, charged

CARUTHERSVILLE - A Sikeston man wanted on statutory sodomy charges was taken into custody in Caruthersville.

On Thursday, Caruthersville police with the assistance of the Casino Aztar security staff arrested Gene Edward Haynes, 34, on a Scott County felony warrant charging him with first degree statutory sodomy. Bond is set at $75,000.

According to a news release from Caruthersville City Marshal Chris Riggs, officers made the arrest in the recreational vehicle parking lot at the casino.

During their investigation officers also seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia from inside the camper trailer occupied by Haynes.
