Sikeston 7-year-old Cam King has just completed his first year of racing at SEMO Kart Raceway in Benton. King began in the Yard Kart division before moving to the Junior Sportsman Champ Kart division. King won 10 of the 12 races he entered this season and and won the 2007 points championship in the Junior Sportsman Champ division and took first place in his division at the 6th Annual Coca-Cola Spring Showdown.
King is also a third generation racer. Both of his grandfathers, Bill James and Pete King, began racing in 1976, and his father, Greg King, raced for 16 years until this season when he quit to help his son. Cam King's uncle, Billy James, has also raced for 14 years.
