DELTA -- Frances Evelyn Simpher, 82, died Sept. 13, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 3, 1923, in Chaffee, daughter of the late Otto B. and Maude Ina Dowdy Golightly, she was a retired nurse technician from Chaffee General Hospital in Chaffee.

In October 1941, she married Delbert Lewis who preceded her in death. On March 12, 1950, she married Charles Howell, who also preceded her in death. She then married Ed Simpher, and he preceded her in death.

One son, three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Bob Lewis of Waynesville and Ed Lewis of Chaffee; two daughters, Karen Cline and Donna Richmond of Noble, Okla.; one brother, Hank Golightly of Chaffee; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Marty Blakey will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee.

Pallbearers will be: Charlie Richmond, Rusty Golightly, Jimmy Chamness, Ron Cline, Eddie Richmond and Brandon Patterson.
