HAYWOOD CITY - John "Snap" Turner, 92, died Sept. 9, 2005, at his home.

Born July 6, 1913, in Pleasant Grove, Miss., son of the late Fletcher and Clemente Drake Turner, he had lived in Missouri since 1926 and was a member of St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston.

On Dec. 25, 1932, in Scott County, he married Elnater Luster, who preceded him in death May 10, 2000.

Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Henry and Shirley Turner and David Turner of Haywood City and Don and Roy-Jean Turner of Nashville, Tenn.; nine daughters and five sons-in-law, Ella Mae Turner, Gertrude Harrington, Geneva and Jessie McClinton, Rose and Kim Peet and Mary and Marvin Baker, all of Sikeston, Lucille Turner and Doris Turner of Haywood City, Joann and James Jackson of Chicago and Helen and Allen Tate Jr. of Harvey, Ill; 63 grandchildren, 147 great-grandchildren and 203 great-

great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon Friday until time for services at 1 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Lee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Haywood City Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
