CARUTHERSVILLE - Two juveniles are being questioned in connection with several burglaries in the Deering and Braggadocio area.

Pemiscot County deputies learned early Saturday morning about a vehicle stop by a Caruthersville police officer. During the stop of the vehicle containing a number of juveniles, the officer observed a large amount of cigarettes inside the vehicle.

According to Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, when deputies learned of the traffic stop they began a search of businesses throughout the county to determine if any had been burglarized. While patrolling, deputies found a window at Green Oil Company in Deering was shattered, the building entered and an undetermined amount of cigarettes missing.

Deputies located the juveniles Saturday afternoon and questioned them. As a result of the investigation, deputies recovered property taken from Green Oil Company and solved two burglaries at Delta C-7 School which occurred earlier in April and in March. Also deputies cleared an unreported burglary in the Braggadocio area where several guns were taken but later retrieved.

Greenwell said deputies are continuing their investigations throughout the county in relation to thefts from vehicles and other burglaries.

Assisting in the investigation were Caruthersville Police Department and the Pemiscot County Juvenile office.
