CARUTHERSVILLE - A man is in custody after ramming his wife's vehicle with his truck in a domestic dispute.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department received a call at 5 p.m. Thursday of an accident on North Elm Street in Holland, Mo. As officers began their investigation they determined the accident was the result "of an enraged husband trying to stop his wife from leaving a residence," according to their report.

The report stated a 28-year-old female was attempting to flee in a vehicle when it was rammed by a her 29-year-old husband's pickup. The woman was injured when she hit her head on the driver's side window as the vehicle was rammed, however she refused medical treatment.

A report that two children were in the woman's car apparently was unfounded. Law enforcement officers did say the children witnessed the dispute from inside a residence.

The assailant was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail where he is charged with first degree domestic assault and armed criminal action. Bond is set at $35,000 pending further review by the prosecuting attorney.
