SIKESTON -- Valerie Jean Williams, 48, died Nov. 7, 2007, at the St. Francois Manor in Farmington.
Born April 10, 1959, in Howardville, to Rosie Gilmore of Sikeston and the late Earl Williams, she attended Sikeston Public Schools. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church and later a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, survivors include: one son, Derrick Blackmon of Forrest City, Ark.; three daughters, Laketa Williams and Tonia Williams of Sikeston and Ronetta Artis of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Edward Williams of East Prairie, Earl Williams of Kansas City, Eugene Williams of Carton, Calif., and Curtis Gilmore of Cape Girardeau; nine sisters, Francis Boten and Christine Mayo of Kansas City, Gertude Armstrong of Grandview, Tammy Gilmore of Cape Girardeau, Shun Gilmore, Charlette Lambert, Cynthia Gilmore and Earline Carter of Sikeston and Samona Maheia of Chicago; and 20 grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. L.J. Nabors, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
