SIKESTON - Lance Simmons, 30, died Feb. 14, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 9, 1975, in Jonesboro, Ark., son of James and Barbara DeKoster Simmons Sr. of Oran, he was a member of New Life Christian Center of Morley and was a foreman for MidState Builders and Garage Door in Oran.
On June 20, 1998, he married Amanda McClain, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and parents, other survivors include: his paternal grandmother, Palma Lee Simmons of Moline, Ill.; his maternal grandfather, Charles DeKoster of East Moline, Ill.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James "Nick" and Dawn Simmons Jr. of Sikeston and Jerry Simmons of Cape Girardeau; one sister and brother-in-law, Crystal Lynn and Dwayn Brooks of St. Louis; his mother-in-law, Darlene McClain of Oran; and one brother-in-
law, Derick L. McClain of Ft. Lewis, Wash.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Byron Sanders of Evansville, Ind., will deliver the eulogy and the Revs. Robert Riley, pastor of Bread of Life Church in Hot Springs, Ark., Larry West, pastor of Eagle Ministries in Selmer, Tenn., and Ricky McNeely, evangelist of Christ to the World Ministry, will officiate the service.
Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley.
Pallbearers will be: Tommy Newell, Raymond Brown, Bill Woolford, Jeff Jarrell, Mike Boshell, Stanley Karpf, Gilbert Scherer, Todd Murphy and Patrick Murphy.
