DELTA -- Terrence Below set Delta's single-game scoring record with 55 points, and the Bobcats scored 45 points in the fourth quarter en route to an 89-87 victory against Chaffee on Tuesday at home.
Below, who broke the record that his uncle, Sam Below, and Neal Hester shared (48), was 22 for 27 from the field, all on 2-point field goal attempts. He hit all 11 of his free throws and scored 21 points in the fourth quarter.
"They were guarding him," Delta coach Shawn Kinder said, "but he was just hitting his shots."
Two of Delta's starters fouled out, and starter Aaron Kinder's playing time was limited due to illness.
"With those two starters fouling out and Aaron being sick, Terrence basically took the game over," Kinder said. "We got in foul trouble, and he just took the load on his shoulders."
Kinder added 12 for Delta (5-12), and Nathan Stroder netted 11.
For Chaffee, which scored 31 points in the final frame, Steven Dooley scored 24 points, Andy Hendrix had 23, Augi Orr scored 14 and Michael Lee added 10.
