LILBOURN -- Anita Joy Downing, 67, died at 2:40 a.m. Feb. 9, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 29, 1938, in Armorel, Ark., daughter of the late Edgar and Margaret Ryan Downing, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and became a member of the Methodist Church in Lilbourn many years ago. She took great pride in her church and enjoyed singing in her church choir. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and cooking.

Survivors include: one son, Ronald Harrison of Skokie, Ill.; one daughter, Barbara Soloman of DeKalb, Ill.; and one sister, June Crouthers of Parma.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday until time for services at noon at the Methodist Church in Lilbourn. The Rev. Bill Reid, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: Arnold Simpson, Dick Twitty, Timmy Dambach, Jerry Webb Duncan, Dave McClarty, Larry Hamilton, Travis Lambert and Al Wilkerson.

Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
