MOREHOUSE - I.B. McNew Jr., 68, died Oct. 17, 2005, at his home.

Born the son of I.B. McNew Sr. of Morehouse and the late Lydia Merriman McNew, he was a resident of Morehouse all his life. He was an auto mechanic, a U.S. Navy veteran, and retired Dec. 31, 2001, from Good Humor-Breyers in Sikeston.

On June 25, 1965, in Sikeston, he married Elizabeth "Liz" Elliott who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife and father, other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Shannon McNew of Kelso; three sisters, Shirley Tate of Dexter, Audrey King of Morehouse and Phyllis Parker of Sikeston; and one grandson, Connor Reese of Kelso.

He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Dean McNew, on April 21, 1971.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Tom McCanless of Kewanee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Darrell Weems, Jeremy Crook, Kevin Tate, Keith Tate, Allen King, Steve Hampton and Jim Parker.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ed Eakers, Jim Tate, Ted Elliott, Anthony Meadows, Chuck Kasting and Chris Link.
