FREEPORT, Ill. - Mary Osterburg, 88, formerly of Dexter, Mo., died May 24, 2007, at Provena St. Joseph's in Illinois.
Born Jan. 9, 1919, in Dexter, to the late Raymond and Emma Webber, she had worked at the Trammel Agency, Stovall's Clothing Store, Citizen's Bank and Webber's Motors in Dexter. She moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the U.S. Government and Westinghouse Science Services. She moved to Freeport where she worked at the State Bank of Freeport until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she served as bookkeeper for many years, VFW Auxiliary, Stephenson Nursing Center Auxiliary, Women's Chamber of Commerce, Provena St. Joseph's Auxiliary and State Bank Retirees.
On June 29, 1946 in Newark, N.J., she married Otto E. Osterburg, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1996.
Survivors include: one brother, Raymond Webber of Dexter; and two sisters, Llewlyn Burch of Joliet and Rosalie Turner of Freeport.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. when a funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. The Rev. P. William McDonnell will officiate.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
