BALLWIN -- Parkway West scored twice in the final two minutes to put away a pesky Poplar Bluff team 31-14 Friday night.
The Mules trailed 17-14 midway through the fourth quarter and were driving when senior Jared Osborn was stacked up by a pile of Longhorns and had the ball stripped away.
West put together an 11-play, 75-yard drive that ate up nearly four minutes of clock and finished with a 6-yard touchdown run by Keenen Maddox.
Two plays later, Mules quarterback Todd Bullington had a pass tipped to West's Chris Willis, who returned it 75 yards for a touchdown and a 31-14 win.
Blaine Gabbert was 8-for-21 passing for 112 yards and an interception, but he ran for 75 yards. Maddox ran for 118 yards and three scores for the fifth-ranked Longhorns.
The Mules out-gained the host 346-307 and had the ball for 29-minutes, 22-
seconds but came up empty on a pair of second-quarter trips in the red zone -- missing a 27-yard field goal.
Both teams had three turnovers, but the Longhorns scored 17 points of theirs while Poplar Bluff got 7 in the third quarter after West fumbled the ball at their own 6-yard line just moments after a goal-line stand in which they stopped the Mules on the 1-inch line twice.
Osborn ran for 82 of Poplar Bluff's 264 rushing yards.
