SIKESTON - The Annual Sikeston Rotary Club Auction got off to a good start Monday evening at the Ramada Inn. The two-hour event enabled the group to sell numerous items, ranging from cakes to ladies' watches. Pat Jones and Rich Wrather presented the commentary for the auction.

SIKESTON - Bill Holmes of rural Oran was named the Outstanding Supervisor by the Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District at its annual meeting Friday night. Holmes helps farm more than 2,400 acres.
SIKESTON - A model of quiet strength and sound leadership, Mike Moll, former mayor and city councilman for six years, steps down from his seat in a few weeks. He holds the Sikeston Business and Technology Park as one of the high points of his tenure. His seat will be filled by Sikeston businessman Jerry Pullen.

SIKESTON - The fifth grade students of Eleanor Crowell, Marian Pratt and Judy Armstrong recently participated in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Math-a-thon, They took pledges of pennies for each math problem correctly solved. A total of $1,260 was raised and donated in the memory of Karen Akins.
