JONESBORO, Ark. -- Jean F. Harris, 70, died April 21, 2007, at her home.
Born July 13, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., daughter of the late Ellis and Deene Whitten Reid, she lived in Blytheville before moving to Jonesboro in 1977. She taught school at Brookland Elementary and worked several years as a secretary/
bookkeeper at Southwest Church of Christ and Valley View Church of Christ. She was a member of Valley View Church of Christ and served several years on the Board of Directors at the Church of Christ Student Center at Arkansas State University. She was a graduate of ASU.
She married Bill Harris who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie Harris of Jonesboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Brent Maynard of Temple, Texas; one sister, Donna Winters of Sikeston, Mo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud and Joy Reid of Jackson, Miss., and Bill and Connie Reid of Sikeston; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Davis Winters.
Services were held Tuesday at Valley View Church of Christ with David Gibson, Jimmy Adcox and Richard Akins officiating.
Burial followed in the Nettleton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: David Daniel, Allen Dehm, Allen Gossett, Greg Hogue, Bob Nichols and Phil Rampey.
Honorary pallbearers were the elders and deacons of Valley View Church of Christ, Dr. Ron Blachley and Dr. Doug Maglothin.
Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
