SIKESTON -- Dasmin Lamont McKinney, 22, died Aug. 26, 2006, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Jan. 22, 1984, son of Tannia Torres of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Virgil Tate of Sikeston, he was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston and had recently received his CDL to pursue a career in truck driving.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: his stepfather, Juan Torres of Marshalltown; his stepmother, LaToya Robinson-Tate of Sikeston; one brother, Virgil Riley of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Eboni Tate of Harrisburg, Ill.; his maternal grandmother, Bessie McKinney of Sikeston; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Coleman of Sikeston; his great-grandmother, Pearlie White of Sikeston; and his paternal grandfather, Sam Marshall of Sikeston.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Bean officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
