SIKESTON -- Ivory Joyce Knight, 83, died Aug. 2, 2006, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews. Born May 9, 1923, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Edward and Eva Sisk Miles, she worked for Illinois Bell before retiring in 1978. In 1940, she married Russell B. Knight who preceded her in death in 1983...

SIKESTON -- Ivory Joyce Knight, 83, died Aug. 2, 2006, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

Born May 9, 1923, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Edward and Eva Sisk Miles, she worked for Illinois Bell before retiring in 1978.

In 1940, she married Russell B. Knight who preceded her in death in 1983.

Survivors include: two sons, Russell Allen Knight of Maryville, Ill., and Jerry Knight of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Phyllis Knight Ditto Roberts of Sikeston; four grandchildren, Bucky Ditto, Regina Miglore, Allen Knight and Andrew Knight; four great-grandchildren, Emily Knight, Dalton Ditto, Ben Miglore and Miah Miglore; her special friend of 22 years, Charles Carson of Matthews; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Vivian Sanders, Celeste Newton and Mary Snell; and one great-

grandchild, Nicholas Knight.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Sunday until time for services at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.

A private burial will be held in the Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
