Crash ejects teen from vehicle

NEW MADRID -- A Sikeston teenager was seriously injured after being ejected from her vehicle in a single-car accident Thursday night in New Madrid County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 7:50 p.m. on County Road 707, six miles north of New Madrid, the accident occurred as northbound motorist Eryn L. Pritchett, 16, of Sikeston lost control of her vehicle in a curve, ran off the left side of the road and overturned in a field, ejecting Pritchett from the vehicle.

Pritchett was air evacuated to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Her passenger, 16-year-old Amanda S. Vails of Morehouse, received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
