SIKESTON -- The following statement was issued by Jerry Pullen, of Pullen Trucking Co.:

"Recently the United States Department of Justice filed certain documents with the Federal Court in St. Louis. These documents set forth certain allegations by the government concerning Pullen's hiring of truck drivers.

"The documents expressly state that neither Pullen nor any of its related entities admits the truth of any of the allegations; in fact, Pullen denies them. Nor has Pullen ever been charged in this investigation.

"However, in the interest of moving forward and putting this matter behind it, Pullen has agreed to pay $125,000, again without any admission of liability, so that costs and legal fees would be incurred in contesting the government suit can be saved and Pullen can focus exclusively on what it does best, which is serving its customers."
