MATTHEWS - An Arkansas man was fatally injured in a one-car accident Sunday night near Matthews. Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at 9:55 p.m. on Interstate 55, six miles south of Sikeston. Wakita M. Doriety, 30, of Blytheville, Ark. was traveling north when a rear tire blew on her vehicle causing her to lose control. MATTHEWS - An Arkansas man was fatally injured in a one-car accident Sunday night near Matthews.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at 9:55 p.m. on Interstate 55, six miles south of Sikeston. Wakita M. Doriety, 30, of Blytheville, Ark. was traveling north when a rear tire blew on her vehicle causing her to lose control. The vehicle traveled into the median and overturned several times, landing on it's top in the northbound lane.

Passenger Lonnie J. Yarbrough, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner Jimmy McSpadden.

Doriety, driver of the vehicle, and passengers Nasanto Crenshaw, 2, and Nakita Crenshaw, 9, sustained moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Passengers, Darion Crenshaw, 4, and Napoleon Crenshaw, 7, were seriously injured and transported by air evac to Childrens Hospital in St. Louis. Shevontia Doriety, 14, was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Starr A. Taylor, 20, was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Montrez Smith, 12, was taken by air evac to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis where he was treated for serious injuries.
