ROCKVIEW -- Roy Lee Wilhite, 81, died at 7:55 a.m. May 3, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born April 26, 1926, in Chaffee, son of the late Edward Elliott and Agnes Marie Sadler Wilhite, he was a retired pipe fitter for Pipe Fitters Local 562 in St. Louis. ROCKVIEW -- Roy Lee Wilhite, 81, died at 7:55 a.m. May 3, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 26, 1926, in Chaffee, son of the late Edward Elliott and Agnes Marie Sadler Wilhite, he was a retired pipe fitter for Pipe Fitters Local 562 in St. Louis. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a past worshipful master of Chaffee Masonic Lodge 615 AF & AM and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Rockview.

On April 5, 1947, he married Mildred Mattlene Young, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Steve Wilhite of Morley, Ronnie Wilhite of Rockview and Bob Wilhite of Chaffee; three daughters, Faye Jones of Perkins, Berta Payne of Benton and Sheri Austin of Chaffee; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. at Amick-

Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services are at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Marty Blakey will officiate.

Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

Pallbearers will be: Andy Wilhite, Philip Wilhite, Justin Jones, John R. Jones and Rodney Austin.
