Edwin Wooley
POPLAR BLUFF -- Edwin A. Wooley, 81, died Feb. 12, 2007, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born March 23, 1925, at Ranger, Texas, son of the late Edwin and Lilly Tite Wooley, he was a former employee of Huffman Construction in Poplar Bluff and of the Baptist belief. A U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II, he was a member of the Poplar Bluff American Legion and a member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge No. 532 where he served as past-master.
Survivors include: two sons, Boyce A. Wooley of Dexter and Glen Edwin Wooley of Madisonville, Ky.; one daughter, Carol LaRue of Huntingburg, Ind.; one half-
brother, Robert Moore of Dawson Springs, Ky.; three sisters, Aline York and Ruby Dowdy of Dexter and Adele Eagle of Little Rock, Ark.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Betty Cravens of Poplar Bluff.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Wooley; three stepbrothers, Floyd Moore, Raymond Moore and Roy Moore; two sisters, Mildred Taylor and Ruth Young; and one half-sister, Shirley Stegall.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter until 2:30 p.m. when a memorial service will be conducted.
Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
