SIKESTON - Stella Viola Duke, 100, died at 10:24 a.m. March 11, 2007, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Born April 19, 1906, in the Bement Community, to the late Joseph and Lydia Ward Tate, she was a housewife and homemaker and a member of the North Acres General Baptist Church.

In 1923, she married Martin Ebert Duke who preceded her in death on June 22, 1958.

One son, Riley R. Duke; two daughters, Lydia Bell Duke and Saundra Lee Presley; and four brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: four sons, A.A. "Buddy" Duke of Paducah, Ky., Franklin Duke of Bend, Ore., Donald G. Duke of Jackson and Bobby G. Duke of Stillwater, Okla.; three daughters, Hazel Billington of Festus, Velma R. Stacey of Little Rock, Ark., and Joyce J. Cowan of Terre Haute, Ind.; and 24 grandchildren, 60 great-

grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-

grandson.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Steve Tippen, pastor of North Acres General Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
