Your view: Mission accomplished

Friday, October 6, 2006

Summer is but a memory - we see the seasons quickly change along with our lives! One thing remains always constant - that is the need to save lives. Once again you responded to that need at the community blood drive on Sept. 21, at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.

Giving blood takes time and sacrifice but because you gave both we reached our goal of blood units. Our mission is to save lives by ensuring the supply of blood is always on the hospital shelves when there is a need. As with all missions, it is best achieved by team work. Thank you for being on our team and doing your part for winners everywhere! They have another chance to live because you give!

Every three minutes someone, somewhere needs blood. Often when the need arises it is unexpected so one just can't be prepared. On behalf of the American Red Cross I urge you to join our team and give blood. You can be the life-line, between life and death. I encourage you to please watch your newspapers for up coming blood drives.

I promise you will not do anything that day that will bring more meaning to your life -and more living to another.

I will look forward to seeing you there-thanks in advance for being on our team-I know we will win.

May God Bless,

Freida Cardwell
