SIKESTON - A review of the Bootheel Counseling Service by state officials found no deficiencies.
The Missouri Department of Mental Health Division of Comprehensive Psychiatric Services conducted the annual Safety and Basic Assurance Review of Bootheel Counseling Services in July. The programs evaluated during this review were: the Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, the Access Crisis Intervention, and Outpatient Mental Health Programs.
Following an initial meeting with key staff members, the review committee completed an analysis of services provided, human resource activities, record keeping, environment, service delivery process and documentation, in addition to fiscal and administrative activities. On-site visits were made to the branch office location in Bloomfield, and "The Club House" Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center.
In sharing the results with key BCS staff members, the review committee was very complimentary of the efforts of the continuous quality improvement committee, medical record keeping and human resource activities according to Cheryl Jones, community psychiatric rehabilitation director.
The members of the administrative team of Bootheel Counseling Services were also pleased with the results. "I am pleased with the efforts and teamwork of our staff and the results of the review by the Missouri Department of Mental Health," said Jones
In order to order to maintain status as the State of Missouri's administrative agent for providing mental health services for Mississippi, New Madrid, Scott and Stoddard Counties, Bootheel Counseling Services must pass the review. Bootheel Counseling Services is a private, not-for-profit community mental health center with locations in Sikeston and Bloomfield.
