EAST PRAIRIE - Arthur Franklin Hendrix Jr., 78, died at 1 a.m., June 8, 2006, at his home. Born Aug. 3, 1927, in Flint, Mich., son of the late Arthur Franklin and Opal Howard Hendrix, he lived most of his life in Mississippi County, where he was a retired mechanic and truck driver. EAST PRAIRIE - Arthur Franklin Hendrix Jr., 78, died at 1 a.m., June 8, 2006, at his home.

Born Aug. 3, 1927, in Flint, Mich., son of the late Arthur Franklin and Opal Howard Hendrix, he lived most of his life in Mississippi County, where he was a retired mechanic and truck driver. He was a member of the Gravel Ridge Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army Air Force, having served during World War II.

On Sept. 28, 1951, at Charleston, he married Pauline May Browning, who survives of the home.

One son, Delbert Dean Hendrix of East Prairie also survives.

In addition to his parents, one brother, Donald Hendrix, preceded him in death.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday. George White will officiate.

Burial with Full Military Rites conducted by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.
