CHARLESTON - Jessie Organ Cox, 93, died at 2:15 p.m. Sept. 11, 2006, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born April 20, 1913, in New Madrid County, to the late Louie Jackson and Mary Albertine Snider Organ, she moved to Commerce six years ago. She lived most of her life in the Bridges Community where she was a member of the Bridges United Methodist Church and had been employed with the Knights Department Store in Charleston.

On March 16, 1929, she married Roy Richard Cox, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1990.

Also preceding her in death were: one son, Marty Cox; one daughter, Glenda Joyce Boone; one infant son; three brothers; four sisters; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four daughters-in-law, Sally Cox, Lucy Cox, Glenda Cox and Mary Lou Cox.

Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Harold Richard Cox and Adon Cox of Charleston, Tommy and Joyce Cox of Commerce, Roy Gene and Anna Mae Cox of Desoto; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Phyllis Williams of St. Louis, Janet and Delmar Baker of Chicago, Nancy and Dennis Kindle of Morehouse and Libby and Don Stracener of Charleston; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-

grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Leland Butler of Portageville and the Rev. David Thompson of Cape Girardeau will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Sonny Allen, Tommy Cox Jr., James Cox, Larry Harwell, Del Baker, David Kindle, Mickey Cox and Heath Salyer.
