CARUTHERSVILLE - Following an autopsy, authorities are still seeking the identity of body discovered Friday. CARUTHERSVILLE - Following an autopsy, authorities are still seeking the identity of body discovered Friday.

An autopsy was performed Sunday at the Mineral Area Hospital in Farmington a body found by a Pemiscot County farmer along the treeline on County Road 547, just east of Steele. According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell the autopsy showed no indications of gun shot wounds or signs of stabbing, blunt trauma or strangulation.

Authorities are still awaiting toxicology reports, he said.

Investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Division of Drug and Crime Control and Pemiscot County are continuing the investigation into the death of the black female.
