BENTON -- A mobile home was completely destroyed by a structure fire early today in Benton.
According to Scott County Sheriff's Department, at 6:15 a.m. today emergency officials responded to a fire in a mobile home unit located at 339 Shady Branch in Benton. Residing in the home were Larry, Delmar and Kathy Pluhar.
NBC Fire Protection District responded to the scene. Assisting NBC was Blodgett, Scott County Rural and Oran fire departments.
At press time, the cause of the fire remained unknown, and crews were still investigating at the scene. American Red Cross and Unity Baptist Church of Benton were expected to offer assistance to the victims.
