DEXTER - Dorris Turlington, 91, died Jan. 23, 2008, at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon. Born Oct. 21, 1919, in Bloomfield, daughter of the late William Thomas and Ada Mae Dorris Eaton, she lived her entire life in Bloomfield and Dexter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and had served as the librarian for 30 years at the Dexter Public Library...

DEXTER - Dorris Turlington, 91, died Jan. 23, 2008, at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon.

Born Oct. 21, 1919, in Bloomfield, daughter of the late William Thomas and Ada Mae Dorris Eaton, she lived her entire life in Bloomfield and Dexter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and had served as the librarian for 30 years at the Dexter Public Library.

On Sept. 5, 1936, in Dexter, she married Grundy Turlington, who preceded her in death on July 9, 2003.

One brother, Carlton Eaton; and two sisters, Murl Long and Edith Palmer also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pam Turlington of Deter; two grandsons, Todd Turlington of Jackson and Tim Turlington of Mexico, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield. Dr. Curtis Porter of Dexter will officiate.
