Margaret Belk
BERTRAND -- Margaret Louise Belk, 87, formerly of Charleston, died at 3:30 a.m. July 12, 2008, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.
Born July 17, 1920, in Cairo, Ill., to the late Levi Paul and Rebecca Wright Williams, since 1957 she had lived in Mississippi County where she was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston.
In 1937 she married Warden Everett Sanderson who preceded her in death in 1954. In 1955, she married Christopher C. Bell who preceded her in death in 1978. On March 7, 1987, she married Bly Belk who preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 2000.
Survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Allen and Susan Sanderson of Napa, Calif., and Warden Lee Sanderson of Isabella, Calif.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary and Mac McGarity of Maryland Heights, Betty Lou and Harold Haley of Charleston, Rebecca and Howard Weir of Bismarck and Christine Bell of Afton; one brother, Carl Edward Dockery of Indianapolis; and 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Edwin Sanderson; one brother, Ernest Dockery; one sister, Lenora Wilson; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bertrand, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Levi Moore, Zachary Ketchum, Issac Oliver, Jeff Ketchum, Charlie Oliver, Michael Sanderson, Jimmy Hodges, Tom Maloney and Jeffrey Ketchum.
