KENTUCKY LAKE, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their seventh tournament of the year on Aug. 10 at Kentucky Lake out of the Paris Landing Marina. Ty Garrett won his second consecutive tournament with a five fish limit weighing 14 pounds, 12 ounces. Mike Estes was second with four fish weighing 11-8 and also had the tournament big bass, a beautiful 4-13 smallmouth bass. Stan Pace was third with four fish weighing 10-8 and Greg Gooch won the "Lucky Drawing."...

KENTUCKY LAKE, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their seventh tournament of the year on Aug. 10 at Kentucky Lake out of the Paris Landing Marina.

Ty Garrett won his second consecutive tournament with a five fish limit weighing 14 pounds, 12 ounces. Mike Estes was second with four fish weighing 11-8 and also had the tournament big bass, a beautiful 4-13 smallmouth bass. Stan Pace was third with four fish weighing 10-8 and Greg Gooch won the "Lucky Drawing."

It was a perfect day for August with the high in the 80s and low humidity. The top contestants reported catching their fish on both shallow and deep water patterns on a variety of lures.

Leven Cox leads in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 1,973 points. Ty Garrett is second with 1,899 points and John Wilson is third with 1,599 points.

The club travels back to Kentucky Lake on Sept. 21 for a tournament out of the Ken Lake Marina.

Owning a boat is not required for membership. New members who adhere to the club motto of camaraderie and competition are always welcome.
