Heather Beggs picks up her fifth win of the season

PERRYVILLE -- The Kelly Lady Hawks traveled to Perryville on Wednesday and came back with a 6-3 win over the Lady Pirates.

Heather Beggs (5-0) threw all seven innings giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits and four walks. She also had six strikeouts.

"She threw a good game for us," Kelly head coach Rhonda Ratledge said about Beggs. "She did a good job of moving the ball around and she kept them off balance with her change up. She pitched well."

The Lady Hawks had five hits on the day with Casey Kern connecting for two of those and was responsible for the only RBI while Londyn Backfisch had the only extra-base hit with a double. They benefited from eight Perryville errors to score the rest of their runs.

Kelly scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third and one in the fifth, while the Lady Pirates scored all three of their runs in the fourth.

Delta 7, Oran 1

ORAN -- The Oran Lady Eagles fell to the visiting Delta Lady Bobcats on Wednesday in a 7-1 game.

Amanda Williams drove in the lone Oran run in the fourth inning. She finished the day with two hits just as Abbey Anderson did. Taylor Irwin and Courtney Scheeter each added a hit as well.

Claire Seyer picked up the loss in her seven innings of work. She allowed only two earned runs. The rest were scored because of 10 total errors by the Oran defense. Seyer gave up eight hits and three walks as well. She also struck out seven.

Oran (8-5) will host Sikeston today at 4 p.m.
