CARUTHERSVILLE - An apparent burglar faces several charges following his capture by police.
At 1:38 a.m. Wednesday, Caruthersville Police responded to a residence on Bushey Street. Josh Lafferty told officers he saw a man crawling out of his kitchen window and then fleeing on foot.
During a search of the area, officers arrested Terry Smith, 18, of Caruthersville. He is charged with second degree burglary, stealing and possession of a controlled substance with bond set at $15,000.
A Caruthersville man is in custody on drug charges following a traffic stop at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday. According to a news release from the Caruthersville Police Department, the vehicle was stopped for failure to signal.
The man, whose name was not released by authorities, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
