BERTRAND -- Elmer R. Hutson Sr., 89, died Dec. 26, 2008, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 24, 1919, in Charleston, to the late John L. and Gladys M. Anderson Hutson, he returned to Mississippi County in 1991, he had lived in Bertrand since 2005 and was a member of the South Side Baptist Church in Charleston. He was a retired farmer and truck driver.
On March 2, 2005, he married Frances L. Haws, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: two sons, Bobby Ray Hutson of Bourbon and J.R. Hutson of Chicago; one daughter, Janet F. Grisby of the state of Florida; three stepsons, Edward Baxter and Robert Baxter of Tampa, Fla., and Randall Baxter of St. Paul, Minn.; one stepdaughter, Judy Baxter of Tampa; one brother, Roy L. Hutson of Tampa; one sister, Lorene Hutson Phiauplis of Tampa; and nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack Hutson, Eugene Hutson, James L. Hutson and Lewis Hutson; and one sister, Katherine Essary.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Dale Huff of Benton and the Rev. Earl Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Myrtle will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
