MADISON, Wis. -- Southeast Missouri did not fare well in a snapshot of well-being by counties across the United States.
Pemiscot County is the least healthy county in Missouri and Platte County has the healthiest residents in the state, according to a new report released today by the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The County Health Rankings are the first to rank the overall health of the counties in all 50 states -- more than 3,000 total -- by using a standard formula to measure how healthy people are and how long they live.
