BENTON -- Scott County will soon implement the needed upgrades to keep addresses updated in all departments.
On Thursday, commissioners approved estimates for the cost of the E-911 Data Link, which will connect the address books in the emergency management office and dispatching in the sheriff's department.
"Right now when we put an address into the emergency management office system, we have to physically go to the sheriff's department and put that address in our 911 system to keep it updated," said Presiding Commissioner Jamie Burger. "We want to have a one-step process to get the address everywhere it needs to be."
