JACKSON -- After taking an 8-5 lead in the top of the eighth inning, the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs couldn't hang on and suffered a 9-8 loss to the Jackson Lady Indians on Monday afternoon.
"Too many errors," Sikeston head coach Tiffany Morgan said. "We needed to step up and make a play."
Jackson's Demesha Huddleston belted the game-winning double to give the Lady Indians the win.
Sikeston losses the extra-inning affair despite out-hitting the Lady Indians 10-8 and also receiving a huge day at the plate by Sikeston starter Sarah Hopson.
Hopson went 4-for-5 on the day with a home run. Sarah Dixon added two doubles and went 3-for-5.
Sikeston (6-7) will host Fredericktown on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Scott City Lady Rams were shutout by Cape Central on Monday, 4-0.
Brittany Kiefer led the Lady Rams with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Alexis Spriggs was given the loss.
"They came through with clutch hits and we didn't," Scott City head coach Amy Pobst said.
Scott City (10-6) will host East Prairie today at 4 p.m.
