POPLAR BLUFF -- Improving to 7-2 on the season, the Sikeston Bulldogs freshman team took down the hosting Poplar Bluff Mules Wednesday night in the Poplar Bluff Tournament.
Jumping out to an eight-point lead by the end of the first, the Bulldogs were able to run away to a 56-24 advantage entering the fourth.
Leading Sikeston's 12 scorers on the night, Peyton Boyd scored 12 points while Jarious Ray and Chris Word scored 8 and 8 respectively.
Next up in the tournament, the Bulldogs will play Twin Rivers this evening at 6 p.m.
