DONIPHAN -- The Charleston Bluejays won a battle of state-ranked teams with a 83-73 road win over Doniphan on Tuesday.

Playing without the services of all-state guard Greg Tucker and fellow senior starter Jamaul Gray, Charleston got 33 points from junior Aaron Cassell while junior Ryan Parham added 20, downing the Dons.

With the win Charleston, the top-ranked team in Class 3, improves to 24-2.

Risco 95, Marquand 30

RISCO -- The Risco Tigers celebrated Senior Night in a big way Tuesday, rolling to a 90-35 win over visiting Marquand.

With seniors Luke Bixler, Jeremey Fowler and Chris Pavy playing their last regular season game at Risco, the Tigers jumped out to a 30-9 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

"It's always good to get a win on Senior Night," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "Those three seniors have been a huge, huge part of our program and the success we've had. I'm super proud of those guys. They are tough, hard-working kids."

All three finished in double figures on Tuesday, led by Bixler's 28 points. Pavy finished with 17 and Fowler 16. Austin White also added 12 points.

With the win, Risco improves to 21-3 and will play at Zalma on Friday in a varsity only contest that begins at 6:30 p.m.

CARUTHERSVILLE -- The New Madrid County Central boys basketball team fell to 8-15 with a 59-49 road loss at Caruthersville on Tuesday.

The Eagles trailed by as many as 15 in the game but cut the Tigers' lead to four late in the fourth quarter before Caruthersville was able to pull away. No further information from the game was available at press time.

Oran 79, Woodland 56

MARBLE HILL -- Oran opened a 21-point lead in the first quarter and posted a comfortable 79-56 road victory.

Kody Moore scored 22 points for the Eagles (14-9), while Alex Heuring added 16 and Seth Ressel had 15.

NMCC 64, Kennett 50

NEW MADRID -- The New Madrid County Central girls basketball team downed district rival Kennett 64-50 on a night that saw junior Karen McGloson score her 1,000th point.

McGloson entered the game needing 17 points to reach the century mark and scored exactly 17, reaching the milestone in the fourth quarter.

Junior Benesha Childress led NMCC (16-8) with 31 points.
