Marion Farris

NEW MADRID -- Marion Velma Farris, 79, died Sept. 4, 2012, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 7, 1932, in Detroit, to the late Harrie Joann Newbert and Hubert Colin Scratch, she was of the Lutheran belief.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Kellie Farris of Yucaipa, Calif.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry Cooperider of Santa Ana, Calif., Gina and Hubert Harris and Deborah and Earnie Starnes of New Madrid and Gail and Carlos Valdez of Bentonville, Ark.; two sisters, Ellen Brightmeyer of the state of Vermont and Janet Freeman of the state of Ohio; and 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Wes Scratch, and one granddaughter, Ashley Valdez.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until time of services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville with the Rev. G.L. Keene officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mounds Cemetery.
